As a devoted distance runner, Certified running coach, and yoga student of many years, Jennifer McDonald was inspired to pursue yoga teacher training after attending a course in Teaching Yoga to Athletes, with Sage Rountree, at Kripalu Center For Yoga and Health. Jen completed the 200-hour certification at Just Breathe Yoga Studio in Rome, NY, September 2019.
Jen has over 30 years experience as a Physical Therapist and is a Professor in the PTA program at SUNY Canton. Her background in anatomy and movement science inform her alignment focused teaching style.
Seeing how the connection of body, mind, and spirit grew from her yoga practice impacted her own life, Jen is passionate about sharing the benefits of these connections with others. She believes that all people can benefit from a yoga practice to find a balance of movement and rest in both body and mind leading to a more peaceful sense of being.
Jen is a US Army veteran, serving on active duty as a Medical Specialist Officer at Ft. Benning, GA from 1988 – 1992. Jen is especially interested in sharing the benefits of yoga with veterans, students, and athletes.
